  • Charleston SC Wedding Photographer: Hi! I'm Aly Greer, a wedding photographer for Charleston and worldwide. I share love stories, wedding tips, and photoshop magic. I love my family, coffee, donuts and dogs! Do we have anything in common?

Photography in the Modern South: What does the "modern south" mean? For me, it means tradition with a twist. Think front porches, comfort food, bowties, nice manners...meets urban farming, pinterest projects, thrift store shopping, breaking the rules...and top it off with a little splash of "bless their heart." I live in Charleston (definitely the modern south), but am also available to travel worldwide.

Vendor Spotlight: Retro Sno Food Truck

I have a confession. Until I met the owners of Retro Sno back in January, I had no clue what a snoball was and how it was any different than a cheap, sticky sno-cone you get at the fair.

For those of you who grew up eating proper snoballs that might seem like a tragedy. But let me assure you, since Retro Sno opened up this spring, I have long since made up for my lack of snoballs as a child! For anyone else that is unsure what a snoball is, check out their website for a detailed explanation hereΒ and check out Strawberry Lemonade and Raspberry Wedding Cake below:

I had the pleasure of shooting Retro Sno’s owners and their products over the past few weeks (and may have eaten somewhere between 4-8 snoballs in the process. Don’t judge.) They are quickly becoming an up-and-coming food truck on the Nashville scene and have had several articles written about them lately: (Nashville SceneΒ and Nashville Lifestyles). Two of my personal favorite flavors are pictured below (Frozen White Mocha and Creamy Chai Latte).

Β

Attention Brides! Looking for a fun and vintage touch to add to your special day? Retro Sno does weddings! πŸ™‚ For those of you getting married in the summer, this would be a great treat for your guests. (Plus- they offer gluten free and dairy free options as well).

Β The lovely owners of Retro Sno: Josh, Elizabeth, Morgan and Keith. (PS- Like their t-shirts? They sell them!)

Can’t think of a better way to end a summer day. πŸ™‚ Check out their weekly schedule or follow them on TwitterΒ to see their locations for the week!

Happy Friday!

Amanda Lange - Love them! They come to our work often and it makes it a happy day. Great shots! It makes me want to eat one now.

Nashville Baby Photography: Lilly 9 months

July certainly seems to be baby month for Wild Cotton! After having a lot of newborn sessions recently, it was a big change to shoot a {very} mobile 9 month old! Lilly is crawling now and definitely had us on our toes for this shoot! πŸ˜‰

This little one’s eyes are so expressive!

So fun getting to watch this little girl grow! Happy Friday!

Nashville Newborn Photography: Part II- The Nursery

I have a confession: I am blogging this partially for selfish reasons.

Despite the fact that my only “child” is a furry dog named Buster, I desperately want to pin this room! πŸ™‚ {With bunting, quilts, seersucker and yarn, who wouldn’t want to?} Cara did an amazing job designing a colorful and girly nursery for Selah. So here are some of my favorite parts:

Seriously, what {southern} girl wouldn’t want pink seersucker in their room?

Love the idea of using drawer pulls in the wall to hang things above the changing table!

The yard wrapped letters on the wall are definitely a do-able DIY project.

Leave some love for Cara in the comments section below telling her how much their nursery rocks! πŸ™‚

Happy Monday!

Nashville Newborn Photography: Selah Grace

Baby Selah was just over a week old when I got to photograph her. You may remember her parents from their maternity shoot, and ever since then I have been dying to meet this little lady!

We try to keep things pretty quiet during newborn shoots aside from a white-noise machine. But as soon as Selah heard her mama talking, she gave us a smile…

Yes, she just had a baby a week ago. Its okay, I’m jealous too. πŸ™‚ Cara you are so, so gorgeous!

Junebug has been a great big sister! This sweet little dog kept checking in on Selah during the shoot and wanted to have her moment in the spotlight too. πŸ˜‰

Melt. My. Heart. Seriously, these two are great parents already.

So sweet. Cara and Brook- thanks for letting me document this special time for y’all!

Happy Thursday!

Renee Williams - Hey Brook….those pictures are absolutely beautiful. What an angel she is! She will be the joy of your life…next to Cara, of course! πŸ™‚ Enjoy her!!

Kirsten Eisele - These are just the sweetest. Gorgeous baby, babe of a mama, handsome papa. Love it.

Nashville Newborn Photography: Sophie

The very first thing I heard about Sophie was from my friend Lindsay who works with Sophie’s family: “I know all babies are cute, but she is ridiculously beautiful!” Talk about words that get a photographer excited! πŸ™‚ We photographed Sophie’s newborn session in her home last week and I think you will agree that she is a gorgeous baby.

Sophie slept for most of the shoot, but when her brother Ian got to hold her, she opened her pretty eyes to stare up at her big brother! πŸ™‚

Such a sweet family! Happy Tuesday! πŸ™‚
