Spain Part III: Madrid and Toledo

Once in Madrid, I could not get the following movie quote out of my head: “The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain Madrid.” {From ‘My Fair Lady,’ word change added by me}. It rained in Madrid. A lot. We were smart and bought an unlimited Metro pass so we could quickly hop from one place to the next while still underground. Luckily we had already planned on visiting a lot of museums while we were there (my sweet husband walked through an art museum for 3 hours while I stared at paintings). And even in the rain, Madrid is still beautiful.

The Plaza Mayor. Where apparently the fun thing to do is….

…have your picture taken with “Fat Spiderman.” Not kidding. Hunter has some family that live in Madrid and they told us we had to have our photo taken with him. Spiderman was quite the trip!

We finally got a sunny day for our day trip to Toledo. Toledo’s cobblestone streets have not been changed since medieval times, which make them a bit confusing but extremely beautiful.

One of the last photos I took in Spain was of this rainbow overlooking Toledo. Perfect ending to a great trip.:)

That is all for our travel adventures…stay tuned later this week for the start of wedding season 2013!
